Piece by Piece: Beyond the Challenge was the theme of the 22nd annual CARS+ Convention held at the lovely Fairmont Hotel in San Jose. Highlights of this convention included the inspiring words of Dr. Richard Lavoie of F.A.T. City fame. He provided all attendees with a guaranteed strategy for success in educating children with disabilities in his standing-room-only sessions. Dr. Diana Blackmon updated us on the latest in Transitions Plans and Dr. Alice Parker, State Director of Special Education provided us with the most up-to-date information on special education in California in her "Hot Topics" session.
