CARS+ 2005 Convention...
No ONE Left Behind was the theme of the 2005 CARS+ Convention held at the Fairmont Hotel in downtown San Jose. This first time ever, Saturday-Sunday convention was highly successful with such prestigious speakers as Dr. Kate Kinsella, Dr. Alice Parker, State Director of Special Education, Dr. Diana Blackmon and Patricia Rucker of CTA. Dr. Kinsella shared her practical strategies on vocabulary development while Dr. Parker needed the largest room possible for her session, "Current Issues in Special Education." Dr. Diana Blackmon unveiled the newest CARS+ document, "The Secondary Transition Goals," which she authored and Patricia Rucker had us all rolling in the aisles with her "side-splitting" humor and expertise in her "Breaking News" session on the Highly Qualified Teacher requirement. (See article in newsletter section) Attendees enjoyed being treated like professionals during this well attended convention.
