CARS+ 2006 Convention...
The CARS+ Silver Anniversary Convention was a true celebration of CARS+ history and accomplishment! This historic convention was held at the beautiful Hollywood Universal City Hilton Hotel where attendees were treated like Hollywood celebrities. Pre-convention attendees enjoyed workshops by state experts like Renee Dawson, Priscilla Harvell, Janice McLeod and Patty Schetter. The real historical honor for all of us was the presence of Jaye Hays, CARS+ founding member. Jaye opened the convention as she shared her experience of starting CARS+ and was pleased that 25 years later, the organization for special education teachers by special education teachers continues to exist! Friday's keynote address by Bruce Jenner left us all with the inspiration to reach inside ourselves to find the strength that we did not even know we had, His speech was refreshing and invigorating. This jam-packed convention with a total of 52 sessions that often flowed out into the hallways left attendees re-charged, rejuvenated and ready to do "WHATEVER IT TAKES" to take on another year of being truly exceptional people: special educators!
