Dr. Saul Duarte Biography
I would like to share that my commitment, integrity, and energy as a K-12 educator and teacher trainer emanates from being an immigrant from Guatemala who is a product of LAUSD public schools. My passion for teaching is evident through my dedication to be both as a quality educator to the service of students’ learning regardless of their background, intelligence, age or gender. Teaching other people’s children always imposes on me the responsibility that I must love the other as I love my own.
I am a scholar-practitioner who truly is a comfortable in elementary and secondary schools, as much as in Higher Education academic settings. Having personal knowledge of the hardships and struggles students and families face every day schools, motivate me to be a better person so to be a better for our children, parents, and teachers.
I have ample experience in K-12 Special Education, K-12 General Education programs, and the most recent research and legal requirements of the Special Education field as a teacher, administrator, and Higher Education academics. My roles in education span to 25 years of experience.
My areas of expertise are English Language instructional and development programs, Methodologies and Assessment in Special Education, educational Mathematics literacy, educational technology and ELA, ELD, Math Intervention programs.
Areas of Work: I live and work in Eagle Rock, California. My collaborative work extends into work with LAUSD, UTLA, other local districts, UCLA Extensions.
