Ananda Aspen, M.A., Ed. Specialist, has taught students in a variety of programs, including general education, moderate to severe, mild to moderate, early childhood and autism.She has been an autism specialist/consultant for a large SELPA, a professor at Fresno Pacific University, and now works for the Diagnostic Center, Central as an educational specialist. Her professional resume includes publications and presentations at both national & international conferences, and over 500 workshops and trainings provided for California schools and programs.Current projects include serving as leadership member of the California Autism Professional raining and Information Network (CAPTAIN) to facilitate the use of Evidence-Based Practices (EBPs) in schools; providing an assessment strand and intervention strand series of workshops for educators and parents through the Diagnostic Center Central as well as consulting with districts on program quality improvement.

C.A.P.T.A.I.N. The increasing numbers of individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder in our schools & communities has created a need for systemic change in order to increase knowledge and ASD & evidence-based practices. Participants will learn about the CA Autism Professional Training & Information Network (CAPTAIN) goals, resources and important tools.
CAPTAIN is a statewide initiative with over 400 cadre members & nine regional groups that uphold the right of individuals with ASD to quality treatment by accelerating evidence-based practice dissemination & implementation within key agencies across CA.
