Manvel has worked with infants, children and young adults since 2012 to increase the quality of life of individuals and families affected by developmental disabilities. He completed his graduate work at Arizona State University with an emphasis in Autism Studies and Applied Behavior Analysis. Manvel’s passion lies in assessing and intervening in aggression and self-injurious behaviors to promote acquisition of functional language. A large focus of Manvel’s career is to raise awareness of resources and promote Applied Behavior Analysis in underserved populations. Manvel is excited to continue collaborating with community members across all cultural backgrounds.

This presentation will provide insight into challenging behaviors (also commonly referred to as problem/maladaptive/bad behaviors) demonstrated by individuals diagnosed with ASD. The presentation will aim to support instructors and caregivers with the constant struggle they face with understanding and reacting to challenging behaviors.
