Nancie Whiteside began teaching physical education for Los Angeles Unified School District in 1974. She taught physical education and adapted physical education for Covina School District at the high school that had the deaf and hard of hearing program in the seventies. In 1985, she started teaching adapted physical education for Irvine Unified School District. She is currently teaching adapted physical education for Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District. She has a life credential for physical education and social studies, an adapted physical education authorization, National certification a masters of arts in education and a life administration credential. She is a member of the California Association of Health Physical Education Recreation and Dance and the California State Council on Adapted Physical Education. She has presented at many conferences in California for CAHPERD, Kansas for KAHPERD, Hawaii for the Southwest District of AAHPED and the National Adapted Physical Education Conference. She is currently working with the Northern California Special Olympics as the LVJUSD coordinator for school based Special Olympics.
